Educating the visitors about the SLCS, he said people may have negative perceptions about the place but “we believe that the Correctional Centre is meant for people and not animal”. He noted that it was only in extreme circumstances that inmates face the full force of officers, because sometimes officers use reasonable force to make inmates obey lawful orders.
The Regional Commander educated that some who people who have been in prisons, came out to do admirable things in society.
Representing the Parliamentary Sports Committee, Hon. Alusine Conteh of constituency 125 said that sometimes, life was unfair, adding those who were behind bars should consider time in there as a period of incubation for better hatchings.
